Wasn’t easy saying Goodbye… Took me some effort to hold back my tears. Found myself avoiding looking Zim at his face. (Just can’t bear to leave him behind..) Seeing Chunnie cry and hearing Zim’s voice made it even harder to do so. Sigh… Finally burst out into tears the moment I heard my mom’s and Zim’s voice on the phone while waiting in the holding area. Well, it’s okay… it’s time for me to grow up and be independent…And of course, look forward to the fun in Orlando…
Finally reached Newark after 18 torturing hours… Thankfully, the flight wasn’t too bad. My plane-phobia disappeared shortly after boarding and I started getting all excited about the Inflight entertainment. Caught 4 movies; Perhaps Love, Underworld: Evolution, Nanny McPhee & Memoirs of the Geisha and an episode of House. Spent the remaining time dazing, napping, eating (food was good, including Ben’s & Jerry’s ice cream and cheese cake…), playing games (included Bedazzled, Mahjong until it hung on me – probably because I kept winning, Hangman and scrabble) and peeing (went to the toilet on average twice an hour.. pathetic bladder of mine..) Inflight service was fabulous, constantly flooding us with food and drinks. Guess what you pay is definitely what you get.
Seriously, the 18 hours was rather tough to pass. Kept counting down to the remaining hours. Thank god we made it anyway… can’t be more glad when we finally touched down on some land. However, the landing nearly killed me… (Having flu and blocked nose really doesn’t help during the increasing air pressure during landing..) My ears hurt soooo badly that I seriously thought that they would just burst. But, of course they didn’t…
After much struggling with our 5 luggages (I hereby swear that I would NEVER carry people’s luggage for them again, NEVER EVER again..) we finally made our way to Holiday Inn, Newark and settled in. Lazily, we decided to order in dinner – Domino Pizza (Well, guess it’s the power of Media. We saw the TV advertisement and were bought over immediately! LOL Big round pizzas for just USD$9.90, who wouldn’t be…) After making almost ten calls, we finally made our order and was told that it would arrive in just 30minutes. Of course, we got all excited and was happily counting down… Suckily, 1/2hr became 1hr, 2hr, 3hr… Sick of waiting, and drop dead tired, we decided to hack our pizza and go straight to bed… (too tired to feel the hunger anymore..) Anyway, coincidentally, we all woke up at 3am (most likely due to Jet lag) and started dazing. LOL, unable to sleep and feeling awfully hungry, we decided to call room service… (all thanks to the stupid Domino Pizza). Pleasant surprise though, the 14inch pizza cost only USD$8.99, and it was DELICIOUS… lol.. after a satisfied meal, we finally Zzzzzz till the next morning…
